JONESBORO, Ark - Several exciting promotions have been planned for Saturday's A-State football game against Troy. Red Wolves fans and tailgaters are encouraged to form a perimeter around ASU Stadium as the Arkansas State football team is scheduled to make its first-ever "Red Wolf Walk" around the stadium prior to the game.
The team will begin on the east side of the end zone facility at 1:15 p.m. and walk around the outside of the stadium. The Red Wolves will begin walking through the Pines, cross the north end zone, make their way along the west side of the stadium, walk through the ASU Lettermen's Walk and Arch and take the field for pregame warm-ups down the west ramp.
Fans tailgating and partaking in pregame festivities on the old track, on the south side of the stadium and in The Pines area are encouraged to go to the east side of the stadium during the walk. Fans at the north end of the stadium and in "Red Wolf Run" should go to the north end zone, and fans in Tailgate City and the ASU Kids' Zone should participate at the west side of the stadium.
The game has also been designated "Take a Kid to the Game Day." All kids ages 13 and under will be admitted free with a paid adult. Only one child will be admitted per paid adult, and the promotion will be honored at any gate to the stadium.
"This is an excellent promotion to get kids involved," said Gleen Hart, ASU Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions. "It's a great opportunity for kids to get to experience and enjoy the passion that surrounds college football."
The "Pride of Paragould" marching band will be performing during the pregame activities Saturday. The band is from Paragould High School and will perform 30 minutes prior to kickoff.
