Jonesboro, AR (KAIT) - The Nettleton prize patrol was on campus Friday handing out cash prizes to deserving teachers! Unsuspecting educators were caught off guard when members of the Nettleton Education Foundation came into their rooms!
26 grants were submitted for review and ten projects will be funded. At Nettleton Intermediate School over $4,000 was awarded.
Teacher Julie Roark is one of the teachers who will now get to fund her project that will allow girls meet together to build on friendships, self esteem, and their futures.
"This money's going to help us bring in additional resources. We're going to use guests from the community. Women and other people to talk about opportunities for girls," said Roark.
This gives teachers the opportunity to do some of the projects they otherwise would not have the funding to accomplish.
