Race raises money to fight heart disease

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Over 700 people took advantage of the sunny skies on Saturday and hit the pavement for a 5k run.

The fifth annual Heart and Sole run/walk helps promote health and wellness.  It also raises money for the Cardiology Associates Foundation.  Throughout the year the foundation holds programs in Region 8 to educate the public about heart disease.

"We have several races throughout the year an we've had more and more start participating.  We've got more and more people getting into health, fitness and wellness.  It's a fun event and it's for a good cause," said Tracy Stearns.
