Wanna Dance rocks Valley View

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Teams of 2 danced in unison Tuesday night at the Valley View Performing Arts Center to raise money for the Woman's Discovery Center.

The building was packed full of spectators as weeks of practice game to fruition on the stage.

KAIT's Stan Morris and Triple FM's Bo Dalton hosted the event along with the Woman's Discovery Center director, Dr. Faye Cox.

If you missed night one or two, both groups will dance at the finale. The grand finale will be Tuesday, October 20th, at 6 p.m. at the Nettleton Performing Arts Center. General admission for the event is $5 and all votes are $1.

Sixteen couples have roughly three weeks to learn a choreographed dance and perform it for an audience for votes.  Votes come in the form of $1 donations and the couple with the most money raised wins!  All proceeds go to benefit the Woman's Discovery Center in Jonesboro. The Woman's Discovery Center's two-fold purpose is to provide a place for a woman to be nurtured (to find those activities and relationships she needs to bring balance to her life) and to nurture other women (to provide opportunities to serve women in our community).   

There will be a special meet and greet at the Mall at Turtle Creek on October 17th from noon until 4 p.m. for fans to meet the dancers. 

Fans can vote one of six ways: at the performance, in person or by phone to the Woman's Discovery Center at (870) 933-9939, straight to the dancers or at their place of business, on the Woman's Discovery website www.thewomansdiscoverycenter.org,  or in person at the Heritage Bank main branch on Brown's Lane.
