POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (AP) - A 16-year-old from southeast Missouri will stand trial as an adult for setting another teenager on fire.
The Poplar Bluff Daily American Republic reported that a warrant was issued for the arrest of Billy Rasberry, who is charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. The warrant was issued Wednesday, the same day a judge ordered the teen to be tried as an adult.
Authorities say that in June, Rasberry threw gasoline on a 15-year-old, then used a lighter to set him on fire. That teen suffered second- and third-degree burns on his face, chest, stomach, neck and arms. He was hospitalized for nine days.
