IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - There isn't much for Iowa fans to worry about these days. The 13th-ranked Hawkeyes are 4-0, and their 21-10 win at then-No. 5 Penn State put them on the short list of Big Ten title contenders.
But there's still been some nail-biting concerning quarterback Ricky Stanzi.
Stanzi's numbers are pedestrian at best, with five TD passes, five interceptions and a completion percentage of 56.3%.
Coach Kirk Ferentz has grown a bit weary of defending his junior signal caller in recent weeks. Ferentz says Stanzi carries himself well and that's he's displayed good mental and physical toughness.
Iowa hosts Arkansas State (1-2) on Saturday with a chance to move to 5-0 for the first time since 1995.
