Flu causes Malden School District to cancel classes for three days

MALDEN, MO (KFVS) - Flu-like symptoms cause another Heartland school to cancel classes.

Malden superintendent Kenneth Cook says about 20 percent of the students in his district are out sick, most with flu-like symptoms.

The Malden School District will not have classes Friday, Monday, or Tuesday.  Classes will resume Wednesday.

Cook says several of the flu cases have come back positive for Influenza A.

The football team will still play it's scheduled game against Kennett on Friday.

The Thursday night volleyball game have been postposed until Wednesday.

All school activities have been cancelled on Monday and Tuesday.

Cook says school workers will clean the school while students are home.

The Charleston School District cancelled classes Thursday and Friday due to flu-like symptoms.
