CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - A woman has told police she was abducted in the southeast Missouri town of Cape Girardeau, driven to Illinois, and raped.

The Southeast Missourian reports that the alleged incident happened late Wednesday. The woman told police she was walking along a street just before midnight when she was approached by a man in a station wagon.

The man allegedly got out, forced her into the vehicle at knifepoint, then drove to a secluded spot in Alexander County, Ill. She told police he raped her at that location.

The woman told police the man forced her out of the car near the Illinois side of the Bill Emerson Bridge at Cape Girardeau. She called 911. When officers responded, the woman was walking across the bridge.
