LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas finance officials say the state's revenues fell $55.8 million below their predictions last month as the state saw a drop in its tax collections.
Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration Director Richard Weiss said Friday that the revenue figures for last month "concerns us greatly." The state's net available revenues were also down $71 million from last year.
The state saw a drop in the amount of income, sales and corporate taxes collected during September. Weiss said he hasn't ruled out lowering the state's forecast of how much money it will collect this fiscal year.
