PASCOLA, MO (KFVS) - An autopsy reveals the cause of death of a two-year-old in Pemiscot County is head trauma. In addition, Lillian Fowler's mother, 21-year-old Joanie Fowler is now charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Fowler turned herself into authorities Saturday.

Lt. Ryan Holder with the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department tells Heartland News it is expected that Joanie Fowler's boyfriend, Matthew Dillon Taylor, will be charged with Second Degree Murder as a result of the death of Lillian Fowler.

Investigators say Taylor hit the toddler at least twice. She was being treated at a Memphis hospital for her injuries and died Thursday afternoon.

Police say the girl's mother initially told them she and the girl were hurt in a four-wheeler wreck.
