FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - The 1959 Razorback football team that finished ranked ninth in the nation is holding a reunion this weekend at Fayetteville.
The team was the second coached by Frank Broyles, and finished 9-2 overall, with a co-championship in the Southwest Conference and then a 14-7 win over Georgia Tech in the Gator Bowl.
The nine victories were a school record at the time.
Harold Horton, executive director of the Razorback Foundation and a member of the 1959 team, says he will be joined by 52 other members of the squad for the reunion. The former players plan to get together for dinner Thursday, have a social gathering on Friday and then attend the Arkansas game against 17th-ranked Auburn.
