Rams make Incognito a weekly captain

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Excitable St. Louis Rams guard Richie Incognito must be making progress. He was named offensive captain for this week's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Incognito has a history of being out of control and was yanked by coach Steve Spagnuolo in the opener at Seattle after being whistled for two personal fouls. The next day Spagnuolo said he believed in Incognito and would only judge him on his conduct this year.

The winless Rams are rotating captains every week and Incognito called the symbolic gesture a great vote of confidence that rewards him for cleaning up his game and staying out of what he called the penalty business.

Others named captains this week for St. Louis' game against the unbeaten Vikings were Clifton Ryan (defense) and Kenneth Darby (special teams).
