SHARP COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Officials in Sharp County are preparing for the Spring River to spill its banks.
According to police dispatch, the Spring River was at 9 feet 4 inches this morning and rising as much as 2 inches per hour.
The flood stage for the Spring River is 10 feet.
The Twin Rivers School District closed the Williford Campus early due to rising waters in the county.
Superintendent David Gilliland says the rising Spring River is forcing that campus to close early for fears of not being able to bus student's home later in the day.
The Williford campus closed at 10:30 Friday morning.
Emergency units in the county are on alert and are preparing for river evacuations if it were to pass the flood stage.
