ASU Women’s Basketball preseason cookout

JONESBORO, Ark. (10/08/09) - The annual Arkansas State women's basketball preseason cookout has been scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13 at the ASU Convocation Center.  The cookout is scheduled to get underway at 6:00 p.m. and includes a watch party so that Red Wolves fans can cheer on the ASU football team when they take on Louisiana-Monroe later that evening in a game nationally televised by ESPN2.

"Because of our fans' enthusiasm for Red Wolves women's basketball and our past cookouts, we have had to move this year's event to a larger venue," said ASU head coach Brian Boyer.  "The ASU Convocation Center has been the setting for many memorable ASU women's basketball victories, and this year will be a great place to enjoy ASU football along with our preseason cookout."

"The evening will start at 6:00 p.m. with player introductions, and with the personality of this year's team, I can assure you that you do not want to miss this," added Boyer.  "Once the athletes are finished speaking, we will serve dinner.  At 7:00 o'clock we will be airing the ASU at ULM football game live on ESPN2.  So, you will be able to meet the 2009-10 ASU Red Wolves women's basketball team, eat a great meal, then sit back with the team and cheer on the Red Wolves football team."

Tickets to the cookout are $10 and may be purchased at the door.  Fans attending the cookout are encouraged to RSVP to Gina Winchester in the ASU women's basketball office at 870-972-2993 to assist in planning the event.
