FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas guard Courtney Fortson says the Razorbacks can put an offseason full of negative headlines behind them - as long as they win.
Fortson was 1 of 3 Razorbacks who met with the media Thursday along with coach John Pelphrey, about a month before Arkansas' season-opener against Alcorn State.
The Razorbacks won only two Southeastern Conference games last season, and Pelphrey handed out multiple suspensions for various reasons. Then, allegations were made against three players by a woman who said she was raped Aug. 27 at a fraternity house. No charges were filed after an investigation.
Fortson, who was not 1 of the players named in the complaint, says the Razorbacks simply need to play better on the court to improve their reputation off it.
