FOP help Make-a-Wish

Jonesboro, AR (KAIT)- The Fraternal Order of Police Department or FOP is striving to build a strong relationship with youth in the community. In doing so, Saturday the department held the first ever golf tournament to benefit the Make-a-Wish Foundation of the Mid-South.

The event took place at the Sage Meadows golf course at 4406 Clubhouse Drive. " We want the youth of the community to know that police officers aren't just the guys to take people to jail but we are here to help out everyone that we can" says Owen Smith, President of FOP.

The FOP also takes part in helping out other organizations where support from the public is always welcome.
Those organizations include: City Youth Ministries, American Diabetes Association, Youth Fishing Derby, Special Olympics, Youth Athletic Teams, Shop-with-a-Cop, The American Cancer Society and the NEA Food Bank.
