Police: Lottery tickets stolen, looking for suspects

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - One Region 8 man is behind bars charged with commercial burglary and theft of property in the state's first theft of lottery tickets.

According to Jonesboro Police, Robert D. Buford is charged with commercial burglary and theft of property of the Kum & Go gas station on highway 141 in north Jonesboro.

Police say Buford broke into the store and stole a tower of lottery tickets. According to the store manager, the tickets aren't worth a penny. She says the tickets are all electronically tracked and weren't activated at the time of theft. She says no matter if they were, they could always go back in and cancel them out.

Jonesboro Police say Tony "Shane" Whitney and Brandon J. Williams also had a hand in the crime and could face the same charges as Buford. Police are also looking for Andre Crite and Amanda Lawrence for the offense of theft by receiving.

If you know where police can find these suspects, you're asked to contact Crimestoppers at 871-935-STOP.
