JONESBORO, Ark. (10/21/09) - The Arkansas State Athletic Department is proud to announce country music star Steve Azar will perform at the KFIN Liberty Bank Tailgate Party in Tailgate City prior to ASU's Homecoming game against Florida International this Saturday.
Azar is known on the country music scene for such hits as "I Don't Have to Be Me ('Til Monday)" and "Waitin' on Joe." The Greenville, Miss. native's 2008 CD Indianola reached No. 1 on XM Radio's "Country Outlaw" channel, and Azar has now formed his own independent label, Ride Records. He has opened shows for Bob Seger, Carrie Underwood, Hootie & the Blowfish, Tim McGraw and a variety of other artists.
"Homecoming is always an exciting time at ASU," said Gleen Hart, Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions. "Steve Azar's performance will add to an already awesome game day atmosphere, and we are very grateful to KFIN and Liberty Bank for bringing him here."
Azar's performance will begin at 4:00 p.m., following a performance by the Tailgate City guest band, Faultline, and kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
