Grizzlies' Gay to give away 500 tickets to opener

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Memphis Grizzlies forward Rudy Gay is giving away 500 tickets to the team's opening night contest.

A news release from the Grizzlies says Gay bought the tickets to show his commitment to the city of Memphis and to encourage fans to participate in the "Beale Street Blue-Out" of FedExForum.

The giveaway begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Grand Lobby of the FedExForum. Tickets are first come-first served and there is a two-ticket limit per person.

Gay requests that everyone coming to get tickets wear Beale Street Blue.

The Grizzlies face the Detroit Pistons in their opening night contest Wednesday. The event will include a pregame performance by Three 6 Mafia.
