COPY-Mo. company gets $7.2M for energy project

JOPLIN, Mo. (AP) - The U.S. Department of Energy is giving a southwest Missouri company $7.2 million for a renewable energy project.

EaglePicher Technologies in Joplin is to use the grant to research batteries that could allow renewable energy sources to provide continuous power for the electric grid.

The funds are part of the federal stimulus package.
