Spring River's flooding debris was the landscape for some on Halloween Day

HARDY, AR (KAIT) - Some Region 8 residents spent Halloween Day taking in Mother Nature and her damaging effects.

Regina Coe was one of many who spent their Saturday surveying the damage from Spring
River's flooding over the last few days.

"This water is so powerful," she says, "and in the summer it looks so peaceful."

Loberg Park was just one example of how fierce the water became.  Debris is still wrapped around playground equipment.  The fence surrounding the play area is broken and left swinging in the wind.  Chain-link fences are smothered with leaves, grass and sticks, all causing the fence to bow and bend to the ground.

Mayor Nina Thornton says clean-up will begin Monday.  Pictures of the damage are being taken at this point.

Coe, being from Little Rock, admits that witnessing something like this can be a humbling experience.

"When you come back out to the country, you realize you have to respect Mother Nature."
