JONESBORO, Ark. -- The chief jailer in Craighead County has been fired as a result of an internal investigation.

Sheriff Jack McCann told KAIT Friday afternoon that Kristain Knuckles had been fired following an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct. Three female inmates came forward and accused Knuckles and another Sheriff's Department employee.

McCann said that Knuckles was fired after failing a polygraph test.

The investigation into charges against the other employee is still continuing.
