Western Kentucky's David Elson Out At Season's End

Bowling Green, KY (KAIT) - It didn't take long for the coaching hotseat to toast two coaches.

Along with Tommy West at Memphis, Western Kentucky head football coach David Elson will be let go at season's end, according to the Associated Press.

The Hilltoppers are 0-9, 0-5 in the Sun Belt in their first season in the Football Bowl Subdivision. They've lost 17 games in a row dating back to last season.

Elson was in the Western Kentucky program for 16 seasons, and served as head coach for the last seven. He compiled a 39-41 record, including appearances in the Football Championship Subdivision (then 1-AA) Playoffs in 2003 and 2004. Elson was Defensive Coordinator on WKU's 2002 National Championship

Arkansas State will travel to Western Kentucky on Thursday, December 3rd to close out the regular season.
