Poplar Bluff toddler dies after crash

RIPLEY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A 2-year-old boy has died after a weekend car crash in Ripley County.

The crash happened Sunday night on Highway 21 just north of Doniphan.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports 2-year-old Devin Fox died Monday night at St. Louis Children's Hospital.

According to the Highway Patrol crash report, a vehicle driven by 51-year-old Robert Steele of Doniphan went off the right side of the road, returned to the road, crossed the center line and hit head-on with the vehicle the child was in.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle that crossed the center line were seriously injured.

The diver of the car that was hit, Derek Fox of Poplar Bluff received minor injuries. Another passenger in this car was seriously injured.

Troopers say all three people in the vehicle that was hit were wearing safety devices. Steele, the driver of the first vehicle, was not wearing a safety device.
