Missouri Tigers Football completes 2010 football schedule

Columbia, Mo. – The final opening on the 2010 University of Missouri football schedule has been filled with San Diego State University, as announced today by the Department of Athletics. Missouri and San Diego State will square off in Columbia, as part of a one-game agreement, on Sept 18, 2010.

The game will give Mizzou a six-game home schedule for the 2010 season, and it will be the second of four straight games to be played in Columbia (see below for the full schedule). It will mark the third all-time meeting between the two schools, with MU owning a 2-0 mark against the Aztecs, thanks to a 45-15 win in Columbia in 1979, followed by a 31-7 win in San Diego in 1980.

"We are very pleased to get our schedule finalized, and to be able to bring a quality program like San Diego State to Columbia," said Senior Director of Athletics Mark Alnutt. "It was important to get another solid opponent for our fans and community, and this is a nice fit to rounding out the schedule," he said.

The Aztecs are currently 4-6 in 2009 under first-year Head Coach Brady Hoke, who was at Ball State from 2003-08, where he led the Cardinals to national acclaim during a 12-1 season in 2008. Hoke coached twice against Mizzou while at Ball State, with MU picking up a pair of wins in 2003 (35-7 at Muncie, Ind.) and 2004 (48-0 in Columbia). San Diego State is coming off a heartbreaking home loss to Wyoming and former MU Offensive Coordinator Dave Christensen, where the Cowboys overcame a 27-6 fourth-quarter deficit to win 30-27 on a last-second 43-yard field goal.
