Person of interest sought in Sikeston robbery

SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - Investigators in Sikeston are asking for the public to help them identify a person of interest in a Wednesday armed robbery.

A surveillance photo released by Dept. of Public Safety Sgt. Jim McMillen shows the man sought by authorities standing behind a counter.  According to McMillen, the photo comes from a business other than the one that was robbed.  No further details were given, only that the man is not a suspect and that authorities believe he may be able to help assist in the investigation.

Anyone who knows this person's identity or where he is urged to contact the Sikeston Dept. of Public Safety at (573) 471-6200.

The robbery took place around 1:20 p.m. Wednesday when a man entered the Check into Cash payday loan business and robbed an employee at gunpoint, authorities said.  The man then left the scene in a late model silver Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows and a rear spoiler.
