JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A Jonesboro man, accused of 1st degree murder, appeared in a Craighead County courtroom Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Craighead County Prosecutor's office, Edward Liggins appeared in court, and had his case continued until January 29th.
Liggins is charged with 1st degree murder in the shooting death of Tyrina Cornwell. Police say Cornwell and Liggins have a child together, and an altercation occurred ending with Liggins shooting Cornwell.
The shooting happened October 14th at 605 East Alpine street, apartment B-2.
Liggins remains in the Craighead County Detention Center on a one-million dollar bond.
