Ripley County Sheriff ask for help after man found dead in carport

RIPLEY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Ripley County Sheriff asks for the public's help in finding out information about a man found dead in a carport last week.

Sheriff Barnett is looking for whomever checked a local man out of the hospital last Wednesday.

The man has now passed away.  His name is Jimmy D. Collins.

On Thanksgiving morning, the sheriff says a local man walked outside to start his furnace when he found the body of Jimmy D. Collins lying in the carport.

Early autopsy results have not determined exactly how Collins died.

The sheriff needs more information and stresses no one is in trouble with the law in this case.
