JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - It is around this time of the year that the familiar jingling sound of a Salvation Army bell ringer can be heard near many stores, but Saturday in Jonesboro, familiar faces were also on hand.
As part of the Salvation Army's celebrity bell ringer program, everyone from ASU's baseball team to the Region 8 news team were out and about. Organizer Al Poston said the term "celebrity" doesn't have to mean "well known".
"A lot of these people, the way they look at it is 'I'm not a celebrity'." Well if you'll come out and ring a bell for us, you're a celebrity," said Posten.
On top of getting that extra attention, Poston said the celebrity bell ringers offer a day without having to pay anyone to stand outside.
