SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - Former Missouri Speaker of the House Rod Jetton faces a 2nd degree assault charge.
Jetton is accused of hitting a woman in the head, "choking her resulting in unconsciousness and the loss of the function of a part of her body" on November 15 in Sikeston, according to a warrant for Jetton's arrest filed by Scott County Prosecutor Paul Boyd.
Heartland News has tried to contact Jetton's office, but has been unable get a hold of anyone.
Jetton is not in custody.
He was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 2000. Jetton currently serves as a consultant for Rod Jetton & Associates.
