LITTLE ROCK, AR (AP) - Sen. Blanche Lincoln says the health reform bill would make important changes in the way insurance companies do business. Lincoln, a Democrat, says changes in the legislation including dropping a public option - made it attractive enough for her to support.
She says the bill would enable more than 400,000 Arkansas residents who don't have health insurance to receive coverage. Among the changes that Lincoln highlighted in a conference call Sunday with reporters is a provision that would prevent companies from not insuring children with pre-existing conditions.
Lincoln says she is "proud" to support the Senate version of the bill.
