JONESBORO, Ark. -- Freedom was short lived for two men suspected of robbing a Jonesboro bank on Monday.

Police told KAIT that it arrested two men, one robber and an accomplice, Tuesday for the robbery of the Southern Bank of Commerce in midtown Jonesboro Monday afternoon.

According to police, a masked man demanded an undisclosed amount of money from the female teller, and fled on foot.

Police credit the apprehension to tips from witnesses and calls to the Crimestoppers hotline. Investigators were informed that the vehicle they were looking for was in north Jonesboro. There, officers stopped a red Geo Metro on Melrose Street in what authorities say was a routine traffic stop.

After a lengthy investigation, police arrested the two occupants of the vehicle: 37-year old Michael Warner, and 34-year old Johnny Dewayne Orr.

"Both of these suspects will be bound-over, or have a probable cause hearing tomorrow," Jonesboro Det. Randy Yancey said. "We're right now still working with the FBI and charges will be determined tomorrow."
