Urban Meyer will take indefinite leave of absence from Florida

Gainesville, FL (KAIT) - Urban Meyer announced Saturday that he would step down as Florida's head coach due to health reasons.

On Sunday there were second thoughts on that decision.

In a press conference in New Orleans, Meyer announced that instead of resigning, he would take an indefinite leave of absence from the Gators. No word yet on whether or not he'll return in time for the 2010 season.

Meyer will coach Florida in the Allstate Sugar Bowl against Cincinnati. After that ballgame, offensive coordinator Steve Addazio will take over as interim head coach.
