San Francisco (KAIT) - The St. Louis Cardinals have spent the hot stove season trying to hang on to free agent Matt Holliday.
On Tuesday, another Cardinal free agent went to San Francisco.
Mark DeRosa signed a 2 year, $12 million deal with the Giants to become their new everyday third baseman. On December 8th, he declined arbitration from St. Louis.
It's his fourth team in less than a year. In December 2008, he was traded from the Cubs to the Indians. DeRosa came to the Cardinals in June, hitting .228 with 10 HRs and 28 RBIs in the final 68 games of the regular season. In the NLDS, he hit .385 with 5 hits and an RBI.
