ASU Closes Out 2009 With a Nine Point Loss to Denver

Denver, CO (KAIT) - John Brady and the ASU men traveled to Magness Arena a day after the Lady Red Wolves fell to Denver 65-60.

The result was the same for the Red Wolves, with their bugaboo coming back to bite them.

Martavius Adams led all scorers with 17, but ASU missed 13 free throws in a 64-55 loss to Denver on Thursday. 3 Pioneers scored in double figures: Nate Rohnert had 15, Chase Hallam 12, and Sabatino Chen had 12 off the bench.

The Red Wolves won the rebound battle 33-23, including 10 offensive boards. But they shot 38% from the field in the defeat.

Daniel Bryant returned from seperating his non-shooting shoulder Saturday with 5 points, but he reaggravated his injury in the first half. There is no timetable on his return.

The Red Wolves fall to 6-6, 1-1 in the Sun Belt, while Denver moves to 10-4, and lead the conference standings with a 3-0 mark.

ASU comes back to the Convocation Center to host North Texas Saturday at 7:05pm in the second game of a Mean Green doubleheader. Brian Boyer and the ASU women will play first at 3:05pm.
