ASU Men Beat North Texas 71-56 to Complete Mean Green Sweep

Jonesboro (KAIT) - Two hours after the ASU women dispatched North Texas 77-65, John Brady and the ASU men did the same to the Mean Green.

ASU beat North Texas 71-56 with only 8 Red Wolves in uniform. JeJuan Brown being unavailable, combined with injuries to Daniel Bryant and Michael Lance led to the depleted roster.

7 of the 8 Red Wolves got on the scoreboard, with only Justin Butler shutout. But he chipped in 2 rebounds and an assist in the effort. Three were in double figures. Martavius Adams had 16 points and was 2 rebounds shy of a double-double. Rashad Allison had 12 points and 6 assists.

But Brandon Reed came out to play too. He had a career high 25 points, 2 assists, and 4 rebounds in the win. ASU shot 52% from the field.

The Red Wolves defense was just as aggressive. They held a high scoring North Texas team to 33% from the field. Two Mean Green players were in double figures, but 16 turnovers were their pitfall.

ASU moves to 7-6, 2-1 in the Sun Belt. They'll travel to Lamar Monday night for their final non-conference game of the season. Tipoff is 7:05pm in Beaumont, Texas.
