Winter's First Blast brings snow to much of Region 8

Jonesboro, AR (KAIT) - Residents in parts of Region 8 woke up to snow Sunday morning as a winter weather system moves through the area.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory until Midday on Sunday for North Central Arkansas where one to three inches of snow is expected.  A number of roads were snow covered as of Sunday morning and may stay that way for several days as temperatures struggle to get out of the 20's.

As of 9:00am Sunday, roads in Baxter, Cross, Cleburne, Fulton, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Sharp, Stone, White, and Woodruff Counties were snow covered.  Police ask that you drive with caution if you do need to drive.
