Former ASU DL Coach Finalist For MVSU Head Coach Opening

Itta Bena, MS (KAIT) - Mississippi Valley State released the four finalists for their football head coach opening, and two have ties to the state of Arkansas.

North Alabama defensive coordinator and former ASU defensive line coach Karl Morgan is one of the finalists. Morgan has led the Lions defense to 4 straight NCAA Division II playoff appearances, reaching the semifinals in 2005. UNA went 11-2 in 2009, reaching the Division II Quarterfinals. He was defensive line coach for ASU under Joe Hollis from 1997-2000.

The other finalist with Natural State ties is Arkansas Baptist head coach Richard Wilson. He's been the Buffaloes head coach since the program started in 2007. Wilson played at Central Arkansas from 1976-1978 then transferred to Arkansas, playing for the Razorbacks in 1981.
