Beaumont, TX (KAIT) - Arkansas State beat North Texas on Saturday with only 8 players available. John Brady's Red Wolves tried to do the same to Lamar Monday, but couldn't get the same result.
Charlie Harper led all scorers with 23 points, and was one of three Cardinals in double figures as they beat ASU 87-68. Lamar led by as much as 24 at one point in the ballgame.
The bright note of the Red Wolves defeat was a career night for Brandon Peterson. He led with 21 points, and was 2 rebounds shy of a double-double. Trey Finn was the only other Red Wolves player to score in double figures with 14.
The bugaboo all season long came back again at the foul line. ASU shot 16 for 32 from the line, and shot 40% from the field.
John Brady and company fall to 7-7. The rest of the schedule is all Sun Belt. They'll host Middle Tennessee Thursday night. Tipoff is 7:05pm at the Convocation Center.
