New Madrid home goes up in flames

NEW MADRID, MO (KFVS) -- Fire crews from two separate departments responded to the scene of a house fire in New Madrid.

According to authorities fire crews got the call around 7:46p.m. Monday evening.  When they arrived at the home at 611 Scott street flames were shooting out of the house.  It was fully engulfed.

Crews from both New Madrid and Lilbourn battled the blaze.   Police say no one was inside the home when the fire broke out.

Investigators are not sure exactly what caused the fire.

    The severe weather that hammered Northeast Arkansas Saturday had emergency crews out working Sunday to restore power and check on damage in the aftermath of the storms.
