Canton, OH (KAIT) - The 15 finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame features some of the biggest names in football from the 1990s. One of them is Rivercrest High graduate Cortez Kennedy.
He played his entire career for the Seattle Seahawks, racking up 668 tackles, 58 sacks and 3 interceptions from 1990-2000. Kennedy was a 5 time All-Pro and made the Pro Bowl 8 times. He was inducted in the Seahawks Ring of Honor in 2006.
Kennedy helped lead Rivercrest to the state championship in 1985. After high school, he played two seasons at Northwest Mississippi Junior College before going to the University of Miami in 1988. He was an All-American for the Canes, winning the national championship in 1989.
The Selection Committee will meet in Miami on Saturday, February 6th to elect the Hall of Fame Class of 2010. All 17 finalists are below:
