ASU Women Fall To South Alabama 68-67 Sunday

Mobile, AL (KAIT) - Brian Boyer and the ASU women's basketball team began a 4 game road trip losing to South Alabama by the slimmest of margins.

The Lady Jaguars won Sunday 68-67 with four players in double figures. Sarda Peterson had 12, Morriah Smith and Tashley Gaines each had 11, and Siedah Banks had 10 for USA.

Ebonie Jefferson led all scorers with 18, one of three Lady Red Wolves in double figures. She was a rebound shy of a double-double. Shay Scott had a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. NeNe Hurst chipped in with 13.

The difference was shooting. ASU shot itself a hole early on, shooting 26% from the floor. They were 26-32 from the free throw line, helping a comeback effort in the second half.

The Lady Red Wolves fall to 6-10, 1-4 in the Sun Belt. They'll travel to Denton to play North Texas next Saturday at 5pm.
