Fire in north Jonesboro guts home

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A house fire in north Jonesboro destroys a home, and has firefighters in scene for over an hour.

According to the Jonesboro Fire Department, the fire started at 308 West Gordon in north Jonesboro near Johnson Avenue. The fire was spotted by an off-duty Jonesboro Police officer.

The fire completely gutted the home, and traffic had to be re-routed because the streets were blocked with fire trucks.

The home is considered a total loss.

Fire crews searched the home twice for anyone who may have been trapped inside because of 2 cars in the driveway. After the searches it was determined that no one was home at the time of the fire.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
