Sale of FEMA trailers at Hope delayed by 2 weeks

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The auction of more than 15,000 travel trailers and mobile homes stored by FEMA at the Hope Airport has been delayed at least two weeks.

The bidding on the vehicles stored at Hope since not long after Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana was suspended Friday for two weeks, along with 10 other online auctions of more than 100,000 Katrina-era mobile homes and trailers.

Friday's action by the federal General Services Administration followed objections by the mobile home industry that the sales could hurt their market. U.S. Rep. Mike Ross, whose district includes Hope, has also raised safety issues.
