Former ASU Offensive Coordinator Candidate For Springdale High Opening

(KAIT) - Vype Magazine is reporting that former ASU offensive coordinator Doug Ruse applied for the head coach opening at 7A West school Springdale High.

The previous coach, Kevin Johnson, stepped down January 11th but will remain at the school. He had a battle with cancer this past football season.

The official list of candidates who were interviewed will not be released until Wednesday afternoon. A new head coach could be announced by Friday.

Charleston head coach Doug Loughridge was the first to interview for the position on Monday morning. Ruse is one four college assistants who applied for the opening, including former Razorback and Mississippi State LBs coach Louis Campbell, former Northeastern State head coach John Horner, and Central Missouri OL coach Scott Grinde.

The Bulldogs finished 2009 4-7, 6th in the 7A West, and lost in the first round of the 7A State Playoffs.
