TIPPING IT OFF

Arkansas State wraps up its four-game Sun Belt Conference roadtrip visiting the Florida Schools. First up for the first-place Red Wolves is FIU on Thursday. Action at the U.S. Century Bank arena against the Golden Panthers is set for 7 p.m. in Miami, Fla.

THE OPPONENT

FIU sits in last place in the Sun Belt's east division holding a 3-5 league record and a 6-15 overall mark. The Golden Panthers hold league wins past ULM (62-56), MIddle Tennessee (65-58) and North Texas (80-70). FIU is led in scoring by Marvin Roberts who is averaging 16.0 ppg and Antoine Watson with 10.4 ppg. Marlon Bright leads the team in rebounding averaging 6.4 boards per game while also scoring 9.7 ppg. Isiah Thomas is in his first season at the helm of the Golden Panthers.

SERIES VERSUS FIU

ASU owns a dominating 19-5 all-time record over the Golden Panthers in the two team's all-time series. ASU split the series with FIU last season, winning the contest at the Convocation Center, 61-41, but fell at the U.S. Century Bank Arena 76-80 in overtime.

ASU IN NATIONAL RANKINGS

The Red Wolves not only lead the Sun Belt in three-point field goal percentage but has cracked the top 10 in the nation at the No. 7 spot. ASU is holding opponents to shooting just 27.2 from beyond the three-point arc. Freshman forward Brandon Peterson is ranked 57th nationally in blocks per game at 2.1 and the Red Wolves are also ranked 65th in the country in blocks per game at 4.6.

BRYANT BACK WITH FIRE

After sitting out four games with an injury ASU's sophomore guard Daniel Bryant came back with a vengence hitting back-to-back three-pointers in his first minute of action at North Texas last Saturday. Bryant finished the game 4-5 from the floor and 3-3 from three-point range, including knocking down 2-2 from the charity stripe for 13 points.

HOT START

WIth ASU currently sitting atop the West Division of the Sun Belt Conference and holding the best league record at 5-1, the Red Wolves are off to the hottest start since the 2000-01 team began the year at 6-1.

SEASON SWEEP

With their 83-70 win at North Texas last Saturday, the Red Wolves swept the single-season series from North Texas for the first time since the 2006-07 season.
