ASU's Stephanie Foreman wins Sun Belt award

JONESBORO, Ark. (1/20/10) – ASU sophomore pole vaulter Stephanie Foreman picked up where she left off last season with a pair of excellent performances in her first two indoor meets of the season. Due to those performances, Foreman earned the first Female Field Athlete of the Week honor from the Sun Belt Conference.

Foreman continued her excellence in the event breaking the 13-foot mark in her first event of the season, winning the pole vault competition at the ASU Kickoff Klassic and setting the bar in the league with a 13-1 jump, the highest achieved in the league. Foreman then finished third at the SASF Invitational with a jump of 12-1.5.

Foreman was the top pole vaulter for the Red Wolves last season sweeping gold medals at both the indoor and outdoor Sun Belt Conference championships provisionally and regionally qualifying for the NCAA meets.

The Red Wolves continue action during indoor season by hosting the ASU Invitational this weekend at the Convocation Center.
