Mountain Home's Shane Patrick New Head Coach at Springdale High

Springdale (KAIT) - The 6A East now has a football coach opening. On Thursday night, Mountain Home's Shane Patrick was named the new head coach at 7A West Springdale.

Patrick's wishbone attack led the Bombers to a 5-5-1 record in 2009, losing to Pine Bluff in the first round of the 6A State Playoffs. He was 31-43-2 in his seven years, leading Mountain Home to the state championship game in 2006 and making the playoffs in four of those seven years.

Patrick beat a group of college assistants for the Bulldog job. Former ASU offensive coordinator Doug Ruse was a candidate, along with Charleston head coach Doug Loughridge, former Razorback and Mississippi State LBs coach Louis Campbell, former Northeastern State head coach John Horner, and Central Missouri OL coach Scott Grinde.

He will be introduced at a press conference on Monday.
