Woman found in ditch, now facing drug charges

BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A woman found in a ditch is arrested and now faces multiple drug charges.

According to the Baxter County Sheriff's Department, Virginia Arellano was found in a ditch on January 4th covered in snow. When a police officer arrived she told him she wasn't hurt, just drunk.

Sgt. Estes arrested Arellano, and while she was being book police found what they to be marijuana and meth in her possession. After tests came back confirming the illegal drugs, the Baxter County Sheriff's Department arrested Arellano.

Arellano is charged with public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (meth), all in proximity to certain facilities which carries enhanced penalties.

Arellano posted her $3,500 bond and was released from jail.
