ASU Basketball Swept in Saturday Doubleheader By FAU

Boca Raton, FL (KAIT) - One week after sweeping North Texas in a doubleheader, the ASU men's and women's basketball teams were swept Saturday by Florida Atlantic.

Florida Atlantic 78, ASU Men 63

Three out of four isn't bad at all. John Brady and the Red Wolves entered Saturday's contest with a chance to win all four games in their roadtrip.

But Mike Jarvis and FAU had other ideas. ASU opened the second half on a 6-0 run to cut the Florida Atlantic lead to 35-34, but the Owls flew away with a 78-63 win.

Rashad Allison led the Red Wolves with 16 points. Martavius Adams was the only other ASU player in double figures with 14. Daniel Bryant didn't play Saturday, his shoulder injury is still bothering him. Four Owls scored in double figures. ASU had trouble behind the arc, going 2-9 from 3 point range.

Even with the loss, the Red Wolves will still comeback to the Convocation Center with a half-game lead overall in the Sun Belt. ASU is 11-8, 6-2 in conference. They'll host Louisiana-Lafayette Thursday night at 7:05pm.

Florida Atlantic 85, ASU Women 69

Brian Boyer and the Lady Red Wolves led by 11 at one point in the second half. But Lyrell Barfield's 23 points fueled a Lady Owl 85-69 comeback win.

Shay Scott led ASU with 14 points, while Lyndsay Schlup had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Red Wolves fall to 7-12, 2-6 in the Sun Belt. They'll come back home to host Louisiana-Lafayette. Tipoff is 7:05 Wednesday night at the Convocation Center.
